Since Dynamics CRM 2013 we’ve been able to create our own APIs within the XRM framework using the Custom Action process type. Recently a new option appeared in the maker portal called Custom APIs which sounded very similar, so Mark thought to take a look.
Currently, we need to create http requests to retrieve the metadata of the entity or attributes of any entity. But now, CDS introduced a Web API method which helps you retrieve any entity metadata easily without creating any http requests.
The most common use case to export CDS data to an external database is to have more control over the data (without going through API route) with the ability to run analytics. Nishant shows us what are the various ways of doing that.
